Mike Lee

Mike Lee is entering into his 20th year as Thomas University’s Athletic Director.  During his tenure at Thomas, the athletic department has grown from 4 teams and 80 athletes to 13 teams and over 300 student athletes. Lee served as the Head Baseball coach at Thomas for 21 seasons from 1996-2017 and compiled a record of 491-496-2. At the time of his retirement, Lee's 491 wins ranked 33rd on the NAIA's all-time list among active coaches.
 
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Lee began his baseball playing career at Florida Community College at Jacksonville where he captured the 1990 FCCAA State Championship. After FCCJ, Lee transferred to Valdosta State where he played or coached in four different regional tournaments, including the NCAA Division II World Series in 1995.  During his time at Valdosta, Lee spent the 1993 season as a Student Assistant with the baseball team, the 1994 season as the Assistant Softball Coach, and the 1995 and 1996 seasons as the Graduate Assistant Baseball coach.

During his time at Thomas, Lee has also served the University as Executive Director of Student Life and Athletics, a position that involved student activities, housing, transportation, and security of students as well as athletes. Lee has also taught academic classes at the University.

Lee earned a Bachelor of Science in Education (1994) and a Master of Education in educational leadership (1996) from Valdosta State. Currently, Lee resides in Thomasville, Ga., with his wife Retha and their two children, Jessica and Erica.
